Description

Introduction & Objectives:
This research delves into the specific health challenges faced by the displaced migrants in Egypt and their exacerbation by recent events at the Gaza border. Migrants encounter barriers to healthcare access, mental health issues, and inadequacies in healthcare policies. The escalation in conflict and displacement intensifies vulnerabilities, leading to a humanitarian crisis with profound implications for healthcare infrastructure. The primary objectives are to advocate for collective financing, explore community engagement strategies, and address the health challenges aggravated by recent events. The research aims to provide feasible solutions for displaced migrant health.
Methodology:
Utilizing applicable laws in implementing UHC in Egypt, regulations, and guidelines related to migrants' inclusion into UHC, the research integrates insights from international standards. It employs a nuanced approach based on firsthand experiences within the Egyptian Ministry of Health. Qualitative data from on-the-ground experiences, the recent response to events at the Gaza border, and information from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies inform the methodology.

Results and Discussions:
The study uncovers specific health challenges, emphasizing the impact of recent events on migrant well-being. Access barriers, mental health issues, and inadequacies in healthcare policies are exacerbated by displacement. At the same time, it emphasizes the role of governmental organizations and national societies in crisis response. Results underscore the need for tailored interventions in Egypt, considering the vulnerabilities of displaced migrants.
Conclusions:
In conclusion, the research advocates a customized approach to viewing health as a common good in Egypt's post-Gaza border events. It emphasizes the need to develop integrated healthcare policies, crisis-responsive protocols, and capacity-building initiatives to address mental health challenges and improve healthcare delivery. To ensure the health and well-being of migrants in the wake of crises, contributing to the broader goal of achieving universal health coverage.
