Description

This study examines the transformative influence of remittances on the living standards of households in Nadia district of state of the West Bengal, India, focusing on key indicators such as health insurance, healthcare preferences, transportation, type of education, and access to technology. The research is based on primary data collected from 10 villages within the district, with a specific emphasis on understanding the discernible changes in living conditions post-migration.

Employing a rigorous survey methodology, the study captures the dynamics of remittance-induced alterations in household living standards by analyzing data from before and after migration. The primary dataset encompasses a diverse sample of households, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of the impact on various socio-economic parameters. Health insurance coverage, healthcare choices, modes of transportation, educational preferences, and technological access serve as pivotal metrics for assessing the nuanced dimensions of living standards.
