Description

INTRODUCTION
Antimicrobials have played a crucial role in significantly decreasing illness and death rates caused by
pathogens such as bacteria, Virus, fungi and parasites. While the development of resistance to antimicrobials
is natural process, the excessive use of these drugs, particularly in livestock and human care, self-medication,
and patients’ incompliance, speeds up the emergence of resistance to antimicrobials, hence poor infection
treatment and challenge to modern medicine’s core pillars. To tackle this crisis effectively, multi-sectorial
approach involving HealthCare, agriculture, environment and policy making domain is imperative. This
abstract aims to explore the pivotal role of multi-sectorial collaboration in combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

METHODS
Different approaches such as antimicrobial stewardship in health care, responsible antibiotic use in
agriculture, environmental monitoring, policy harmonization and public awareness campaigns through
coordinated efforts collectively address the complex challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

RESULTS
Multi-sectorial collaboration emerged as a potent force against AMR. Healthcare providers embraced
Antimicrobial stewardship to reduce unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions, agricultural sector adopted
responsible antibiotic use in livestock, environmental agencies monitored AMR emergence through Nature
contamination, policy makers enacted regulations harmonizing antimicrobial resistance control efforts and public awareness
campaigns fostered knowledge about responsible antibiotic use.

DISCUSSION
Multi-sectorial collaboration is pivotal in AMR prevention, uniting healthcare, agriculture, environment, and
policy sectors fosters responsible antibiotic use, enhances surveillance, harmonize regulations, and empowers
public awareness. This collaborative approach is essential to curb antimicrobial resistance and safeguarding
the efficacy of antibiotics for future generation. However, challenges such as varying regulations, resources
disparities and communication barrier is limiting the success of this approach .

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
In conclusion, Multi-sectorial collaboration is indispensable in battle against AMR as it offers holistic approach
to safeguarding Antimicrobial efficacy and ensuring the long term sustainability of health care systems. By
implementing our recommendations, we can collectively work together towards a future where antibiotics
remain effective tools in protecting human and animal health.
