Scientific poster Health and the environment, time for solutions

Description

Introduction – Objectives: Climate change is likely to impact health in many ways that require effective preparedness and conceptualisation of proactive measures against adverse consequences. The present poster abstract discusses tools, skills and sensors necessary to enhance our abilities to anticipate challenges and mitigate potential impacts.

Methodology: We employed a search of the current literature on anticipatory research and reviewed sensors, skills and tools for prediction and assessed their suitability to forecast consequences of climate change on human health in a design thinking model.

Results and Discussions: Our findings reveal an understanding of the intricate relationships between climate change and health. New sensors capable of identifying climate-related health risks are required capable of promoting the development of new tools and skills to enable enhanced preparedness for the anticipatory challenge climate change will impose on health.

Conclusion: The poster abstract underscores the importance of preparing for tomorrow’s health challenges by harnessing a synergistic combination of tools, skills and sensors. As climate change continues to unfold, proactive strategies will be essential for effective public health response. This research contributes to the ongoing dialogue on climate change adaptation, emphasising the importance of foresight and preparedness in safeguarding health.
